To provide a positive role model and adult friendship to children in York Region and Bradford West Gwillimbury through the Big Brother Big Sister and Mentoring Programs.

Our Goals
● To increase the number of children participating in Big Brother Big Sister Programs
● Provide all accepted Littles with the opportunity to participate in a Traditional Match,
Group Program or Activity Nights
● To have at least one school participating in the In-School Mentoring Program in
each of the communities we serve
● To increase the number of children served in the In-School Mentoring Program
● Significantly increase participate volunteer recruitment and public relations programs
to ensure we reach our goal
● Continue meeting National Service Standards
Our Programs
One-to-One Traditional or Flex-Time Program
Be a friend to a boy or girl aged 6-16 and spend time together for 3-4 hours on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Big Buddy
Similar to the Traditional and Flex-Time Program, an adult female is matched with a Little Brother to provide support and encouragement through friendship.
Couples for Kids
Program matching a couple with a Little Brother to spend time together (similar to Traditional and Flex-Time program), with the flexibility of allowing one partner to spend time with a child if the other is unavailable.
Family Matches
This program matches a family with a Little Brother (similar to the Traditional and Flex-time programs), with the flexibility of allowing some family members to spend time with the child if other members are unavailable.
Go Girls!
This program promotes active living, balanced eating and feeling good for adolescent females between the ages of 12 and 14. A fun interactive way for girls to make new friends, share stories, feel motivated and strengthen their self-esteem.
Girls in Action!
A continuation of the Go Girls! program. Leaders spend time with a group of Little Sisters at a variety of locations, interacting while completing a variety of activities as a group throughout the community.
In-School Mentoring
A school-based program, available in various elementary schools throughout York Region, which involves one-to-one relationships with volunteers and a male or female student. The children, identified by the school staff as needing some encouragement to feel good about themselves, are matched with caring adults who believe in and motivate them.
Teen Mentors
Similar to our In-School Mentoring Program, this program is a school-based program where high-school students over the age of 16 are required to spend one hour per week with a child at a local elementary school during the school year.
The Club
This is an after school tutoring program for children aged 6-13.
