The
Town of Georgina started as a broad area of smaller
localities and communities and over the years has merged with the
larger communities but has been successful in keeping each of its
distinctive landmarks and unique and interesting histories.
The larger of the communities in The
Town of Georgina, Keswick, but also includes Sutton,
Virginia, Pefferlaw and the hamlets of Udora, Baldwin, Belhaven,
Brown Hill, Cedarbrae, Port Bolster and Jackson's Point.
Incorporated also as part of the town are a variety of smaller
communities and rural properties.
The
Town of Georgina is York Region's most northernly
area featuring over 52 kilometres of Lake Simcoe's south-eastern
shores. Lake Simcoe, only one of many of
The Town of Georgina's shining features,
is famous for its great boating and year-round world reknown fishing
opportunities giving Georgina
its title of the "Ice Fishing Capital of Canada".
The Town of Georgina
offers more than just great water activities, but has a wide variety
of summer and winter activities found throughout its natural parks,
regional forests, entertainment centers and resorts.
